Date: Janurary 7th, Clouds and sun
It has been a short while since the clan Ah'mir was formed by the great Chief Damien. From the first time Akoda laid eyes on the chief, her new leader, she instantly saw the strength and power he possessed. That led to her forming an attraction towards the large black dog. She had been busy guarding the borders, hunting and scavenging. She recently caught a Fli, a large turkey, for the gang not too long ago. Despite performing her duties as a corporal, her mind never strayed from Damien. Suddenly Akoda decided to make a bold decision. She always wanted to be a mother, and her leader was strong, also about her size. That was that, she needed to find Damien. She ran over in the direction of the clan base, then stopping in front of a private alcove concealed by hanging ivy and vines which was the chief's room. She spoke with respect outside of the room, not wanting to invade Damien's privacy. "Chief Damien, this is Akoda. I was hoping to discuss something with you if you have the time. It's personal and important." It was a day of clouds and sun so Akoda was grateful her fur wasn't wet on this specific day. Not that she minded the rain, just didn't want it today. She waited for a response to see if her leader was in the room.

Things had been going as smoothly as could be expected, in the days since Greyo’miera had claimed the river forest as his own. The greenhouse had appeared through the trees as if it had always been meant for the Ah’mir, with plenty of space to grow and the ideal climate for the shilah’mira. The canna in his care were settling into their roles, and had accepted his authority with little to no quibble, which was all the better. It had been some time since he’d tasted the blood of his fellow dog, and he frankly preferred to keep it that way. Just because he excelled at violence did not mean he thrilled in its use; it was a tool, and one that he preferred to keep on the shelf when possible.
Damien laid on the plush carpet of moss within his den, concealed by the vines hanging in its entrance. He’d been toying with the idea of selecting his own right hand, a general of sorts, but saw no need when his clan remained this small. Perhaps when their numbers grew, he’d revisit the idea. His thoughts were interrupted by the approach of another dog. He scented her before he heard her, and rose from his sprawling lounge up into a seated position.
”Come in, Akoda.” He woofed out, inviting her into the privacy of his alcove. The great dane had adapted particularly well to their forest home, her proficiency in the hunt making her an irreplaceable boon to Ah’mir’s ranks. If she hadn’t already been named mountain for her considerable size, he’d have named her huntress.
As she entered, he fixed her with a mildly curious look, wondering what she needed to discuss. She didn’t appear to be ailed; her pelt was healthy and clean, and no scent of sickness could be detected. The mystery increased. ”Personal and important, hmm? I’ve had canna come to me for far less, so color me intrigued.” A smirk grew slowly upon his face, though his eyes remained serious as he considered her. ”What is it?”

Akoda heard the strong voice she wanted to hear that welcomed her into her leader's den. She wasn't nervous, which was a good thing. She was strong in both mind and body after all. She was a proud great dane and carried herself as such. Akoda walked into the den stopping a few feet from the chief. It was clear Damien was interested in what she wanted to say. That said, she decided to get straight to the point and not waste his time. She spoke in a respectful tone towards Damien, as she always did. "I'm not here to waste your time. I have something to admit. From the moment I saw you I've grown an attraction towards you. Not only that, I think you are strong and a prime example of what a leader should be. I was hoping, if you were interested in continuing your bloodline with me." She hope she made her request clear enough. She wanted to be a mother and was perfectly capable of raising puppies of her own. She was ready for that. She had no clue what answer to expect, but at least she got what she wanted off of her chest.

His brow raised incredulously when Akoda spoke, the brief lash of his tail across the ground the only other visible indication of his surprise. He was no stranger to affection, having had his fair share of flings in his day, but they’d all dissolved when the other party had realized he wasn’t willing to offer much more than a warm den. He found lengthy romantic trysts tiring, and pups were only bearable once they were old enough to stop drooling. Greyo’miera did not exactly exude an air of approachability (at least not in this sense), and so he was confused as to how his behavior had encouraged one of his ranks to approach him about ren of all things.
”I must admit that I’m flattered,” He said graciously, ”But I have little interest in rearing whelps. Or in taking a mate– even one pretty as you.” Damien said bluntly, foregoing his usual charm in favor of being direct. He didn’t want to lead her on, after all. The idea of dogs of his blood running around was vaguely appealing, to be fair– those born within a clan tended to grow up loyal to it, after all. But adolescents only became interesting once they could be trained, and he was loath to take care of any squirming bundles of milk and fluff.
”Unless you came to ask me for single motherhood?” The black brute smiled somewhat mockingly, nearly certain that was not the case (he would be wrong). He was no expert by any means, but even he knew that raising young was an arduous and daunting task. Young Kahru was already rambunctious enough for three; he did not envy Castor his task of mentorship, that was for certain.

Akoda listened to what Damien had to say. Akoda was flattered at being called pretty. But she understood his words, and would never push him into something he wasn't comfortable with. Suddenly, the great dane had an idea. She thought for a moment, then spoke considering what he just said. "Well, we don't have to be mates, and you don't need take any part in rearing them. I will take it upon myself to make sure they become strong members of the clan and that they do you proud one day. I am capable of looking after a litter." Not only that, Damien would be aware of his offspring's existence and vice versa, because he was the chief of the clan. Akoda was completely fine with not being Damien's mate, or him not interested in rearing pups. That would be her job. Damien had a clan to look after as well, so she decided to take that responsibility on her own. That is if Damien was ok with it all. She waited for his decision on the matter. Akoda was understanding in what Damien was interested in. She just hoped he considered her words. Akoda's suggestion would also bring new members in the clan, fresh lives, and increase their numbers. There were plenty of female dogs out there who raised litters alone, that included Akoda's own mother. Female dogs were strong, especially when it came to their pups. Akoda would be a strong mother like her mother was to her and her brother Navir.

His incredulity only continued to grow. Greyo’miera supposed there were dogs out there who were truly built for motherhood, whose greatest yearning was to raise the next generation of canna. But those types of canines were rarely drawn to the Ah’mir, and so he was surprised that Akoda actually was asking for single motherhood.
”Well it seems you have no delusions about how this will go, then.” He said slowly, eyeing the Great Dane up and down. ”I’m rarely the type to change my mind, so don’t come crying at my doorstep if you regret your decision. But– very well. Never let it be said that the chief doesn’t do his utmost to fulfill his clan’s requests.” He smiled darkly before gesturing her closer.
”I do hope this doesn’t interfere with your other duties as well.”
@akoda we can go ahead and fade to black here!
