Blossoms beneath the snow

We never know what choices will lead to defining moments in our
lives

The quake had changed a lot of things. That much had been clear even from the second the dust had settled. Her family had been lost as had much of the clan. Returning to the Why'O clan had been both mournful and welcoming. The familiarity felt reassuring amidst all the rubble, but the losses had left a heavy mark. As a result, there had been no end to the tasks at hand.

As Shadowspeaker, she had to rally what remained of the clan's owi and tend to the wounds of the heart of her clanmates along with restoring their sparse herb stores, ransacked by who knew what. A task made more difficult by the snow cover. To add to that, not one but two rens had been assigned to her care. Luckily, she could teach the rens while gathering herbs, but it was still a lot for one canna to handle.

As the Gods would have it though, she need not do it all alone. She'd met with a kind scavenger that could assist her in gathering herbs. While she could leave them to the task without issue, she wanted to get to know her helper as more than just an acquaintance. 

Turning her head to the skies, she let loose a fine howl. With the signal sent, all that remained was to wait.
