- THE CHATTERBOX - Large paws tread against the ground as Aba’fli skulks home, Relieved as she is the snow had mostly receded the hound still felt on edge. The strange disappearance of her pack leaves her heart feeling heavy. With a small whine at the memory of her missing family, she carries on. Gently creeping over to the abandoned cart she had claimed as her own.
But she stops, breath catching in the dog's throat as she spots just a flick of moving color. Is it a dog? Her mind runs wild with possibilities as she stares over to where she had seen it. After a moment of careful consideration, she called out. Better to let it be known she means no harm than being ambushed.
“Is somebody here? I don’t mean no trouble. Just wanna’ get home and sleep.

Bimori'Mufara wasn't fearful of traveling on his own, he sometimes simply needed the space from the clan. His large, monochrome form blended in a bit with the muggy surroundings as he simply breathed in the air and took in the sights. At one point, he found a particularly dry patch and settled down for a nap.
Before he could slip into unconsciousness, his eyes caught sight of some movement. He thanked the stars, for falling asleep with a stranger in close proximity could end fatally. He narrowed his golden eyes and immediately shifted into a crouch. He considered whether he should approach her or leave the scene quietly, but it seemed she had caught sight of him.
He stiffened, eyes widening as he contemplated whether he should reveal himself entirely or not. Soon, he was stepping out, muzzle lifted confidently towards the long-eared canine as he bared his teeth. "Who are you? Clearly you're not part of the Rithr'flik clan--you're much too big." Needless to say, he didn't realize that some dogs may find this to be an offensive statement.
His posture eased into something less antagonistic as he realized he wasn't in his pack's territory, so he had no reason to be aggressive to this poor she-dog. He kept his distance, but lowered his chin as his golden eyes raked over her.
"My name is Bimori. I'm no threat to you." He hesitated, "however, we are located in another clan's territory so we may be considered the threats."

The crumpled frames of once roaring trains littered the tracks stemming out of the railyard. The scrappy chief was thankful that at least a couple of freighters were close enough to the main building that they didn't need to do Pullings with such low numbers after the quake. Many more trains had been abandoned on their journeys. Some toppled over, wheels in the air almost in submission to the new rulers of the territory. It was a fitting change of tune, Mouse figured. For too long, the trains had been a nuisance and a danger to them. Now they lay dormant, finally providing peace.
Many of the cars closer to camp had been explored by herself and Huli, Hassi also proving great help with bringing blankets and loot back to their camp. Today, Aba'Chek had decided to go out for a walk on her own to trace the rails further. For the first time in a while, she was actually going to be able to relax. The clan was fed, injuries were healing, and their relationship with the Why'os, though tentative, was showing promise. The scattered light of the early spring melting the snow made maneuvering around her territory much easier. At only 9 inches tall, snow was pretty much her worst enemy. The mud that spring brought would pose its own challenges, but nothing like the icy bluffs did in the months before.
It seemed that relaxation was just something that a Chief could never truly accomplish. The sounds of floating voices on the wind caught her attention just up the tracks, and she quickly broke from her path to hide in the bushes. Peering her head out between the branches, she saw a young hound, apprentice age for sure but already dwarfing Mouse. The second voice belonged to a collie, the scent in the wind familiar. The male was a Why'o. While she didn't mind them using the forest for patrolling or hunting, this was a bit too far into Rithr'Flik territory for her liking.
Stepping out at the mention of being in another clan's territory, Mouse barked out, "Rithr'Flik definitely won't be happy with uninvited guests." The terrier mix approached the pair, but kept a safe distance between them. She wasn't stupid - a fight between two canna bigger than her, while she was alone, wouldn't go well. "What are the two of you doing so far into our territory? The forest is shared by Why'os and Rithr'Flik, but not the rails," she yapped again, the second sentence aimed at the grey collie. Perhaps Navira hadn't been specific enough with her instructions to her clan. No matter, Aba'Chek knew she could bring it up with her the next time they met if this male decided to do anything foolish. Mouse was careful not to reveal her rank to these canna. If this Bimori knew who she was from a description by Navira perhaps then she wouldn't deny that she was the Chief. However, she wanted to see how the pair reacted to being caught red-pawed in Rithr'Flik territory by an assumed ele'canna.

- THE CHATTERBOX -
Aba’Fli perked up as Bimori stepped from the shadows. Sniffing the air cautiously to see what she can gather from his scent. He smelled strange to her and seemed to carry a certain whiff she had smelt before. Maybe he spent time around here?
Jolting at his question Aba’Fli stopped sniffing to answer. Seeing his aggressive posture made her lean back slightly and show her nervousness.
“Aba’Fli- I’m not part of-“ what did he say that name was? “Rithr'Flik! And I don’t know what you mean about “too big”! I’m average sized.” A slight offense seeped into her tone at the last part. Was being big a bad thing?
Seeing his posture ease made hers as well. Her tail wagging at meeting a seeming friendly- but slightly rude dog.
Though it was clear at his next words she was still still a bit nervous.
“Another clans territory-“ cutting off with a yelp as the terrier stepped from the shadows. Having startled the hound. She carried with her another slightly more familiar- but still mostly foreign scent. Even though Aba'Chek was much smaller than her. She knew that small dogs often travel in numbers and there could be any number of dog around her.
Aba’Fli was silent as Aba'Chek talked. Until she mentioned being far into their territory. Causing her to blurt out.
“I live here! I didn’t think that any other dogs would mind if I moved in here I promise I will go soon I just need to find my pack I’m sorry-“ taking a deep breath in she went silent once again.

Bimori felt like he had just been caught sneaking off with the last bit of prey. He parted his maw several times and shut it right away. He needed to choose his words carefully. His strange eyes looked over the smaller she-dog as she calmly addressed them--and the fact he and this hound were in Rithr'flik territory.
He didn't need this getting back to Navira. He was in no particular mood to have her chew him out. He attempted to look friendly, a slow wag of his tail and his body becoming less tense. "My mistake, I had been drawn to miss Aba'fli's scent out of curiosity." Not true, but he wasn't going to make himself look bad.
He glanced towards the she-hound and could see the panic in her gaze as he tipped his head towards her. "See, she is just lost and looking for her pack. I'm surprised she wasn't discovered sooner." Hopefully the little canine wouldn't take that as a dig. Bimori turned to Aba with a calm expression. "What was the name of your pack? Perhaps the Ah'mir?"

The panic in the young canna was expected. Mouse knew well from her younger days the feeling of being chewed out, but she survived just fine and this young hound would too. “I live here! I didn’t think that any other dogs would mind if I moved in here I promise I will go soon I just need to find my pack I’m sorry-" the youngling barked out exaggeratedly. Aba'Chek almost winced from the possibility of a glob of slobber flying over, but luckily she was spared the rain today. The Chief stayed silent once more, turning her attention back to the rogue Why'o male as he began to apologize.
"See, she is just lost and looking for her pack. I'm surprised she wasn't discovered sooner," the smooth talker's words sparked the fiery Chief's temper. With the dramatic losses Rithr'Flik had faced, it was nearly impossible to patrol the entire territory, especially with the ordeal of sorting out the deal with the Why'os about the forest. She hadn't explicitly discussed with Navira the precise population numbers of her pack, but the leaders both knew that they had suffered losses. At least that message hadn't been spread around the other Clan. Without any backup, she couldn't let her tongue loose like she wanted to. She doubted either of these dogs was interested in violence, but it was better not to find out.
Through gritted teeth, she smiled at the collie, "I heard her perfectly fine the first time, thank you." Mouse turned her head towards the young hound, but her eyes took an extra second to leave the male. That extra bit of time was so she could muster the strength to stop them from rolling. The terrier mix padded a few lengths closer to the pair, still focused mainly on the younger canna. "I am Li'Aba'Chek of Rithr'Flik," she began, chest instinctively puffing out slightly with pride, "And I have no intention of forcing you out of your home. Bimori is right that you are far too tall to join our ranks. However, if you'd like to stay on Rithr'Flik territory while you're looking for your previous Clan then we can work as a partnership. If you see anything odd or new in this part of the territory, you can come tell me, and I'll show you that same courtesy if anything happens closer to our base. We can work out specifics together. Are you hungry or hurt? And what is your name ro'canna?" The bitter annoyance she had restrained (poorly) towards the collie faded into the closest thing Mouse could muster to compassion as she talked to the young hound. She was only a ren. Rithr'Flik was not a charity by any means, but as a clan that relied on a strong backbone of collaboration and cooperation, offering help to those in need in order to gain allies was never a foreign concept.
