Nahara was far from home, lead by her nose to discover the world outside of the Why'o territory. Sometimes she simply needed to get away from the pack and her sister. The ferry was quiet, a strange echo of the world that once was. She could pick up the sounds of birds, the water lapping at the boats still tied to the dock, the wind.
She felt utterly at peace in this moment. Her eyes trailing over the abandoned boats that lined the lake. They were so close she could reach out a paw and touch one.
Hell, she might as well! What was going to stop her? The humans? Hah! She grinned wickedly to herself and padded forward with her new destination in mind.
Honestly she was just challenging herself, padding to the edge and wiggling her rump as she prepared to leap onto the small boat. It was tied to the dock, so it shouldn't float aside, but she couldn't help but help the mild hesitation.
She leapt, but unfortunately the jump was sloppy and only her front paws tapped the floating object. A shrill cry came from her open maw as she kicked violently at the water. Of course, this was no help, and soon she was slipping off and into the water.
If she were less irritated she would have been grateful that there were no waves to carry her elsewhere. If she didn't have water trying to force itself into her lungs she would have protested. Thankfully, the reservoir wasn't so deep and she was soon doggy-paddling towards the shore.
She slumped to the ground; breathing heavily with narrowed, annoyed eyes. How embarrassing.
