In your eyes I see the eyes of somebody I knew before, long, long, long ago... |
"Ouch!" Kanya growled, flopping down onto her stump-tailed rump to investigate her newly injured paw pad. What was with this place? Her new "home" was full of all kinds of obstacles that needed to be avoided - Namely broken glass and twisted metal tracks hidden beneath thick weeds throughout the railyard. Kanya honestly didn't have a lot to complain about here. She was provided with food and shelter and even protection. Everyone here seemed to want to help her out, show her around, and know her name. It was a little overwhelming, but she had quickly grown used to strangers sticking their noses into her fur or cheerfully telling her a story about a mom and dad that she'd never met. She could do without getting attacked by the ground though. The pup turned her paw over and sighed. Red blood seeped heavily from the pad. Paw injuries were the worst. If they weren't cleaned up and taken care of, then they got all hot and itchy and made walking almost impossible. She'd have to wrap it up. Luckily for her, she knew exactly where to find all the supplies she needed. The little dog stood and hobbled over to a railcar that she'd seen that poofy healer - Mira'hlei? popping in and out of the last few days. It was a bit of a struggle to get in there...not only were her legs short, but the blood made it hard to get a foothold to clamber inside efficiently. When Kanya finally did make it inside, she left a grisly display of blood back at the entrance. But aha! Here she was now, standing before more supplies and wraps and bandages than she would ever need. She set right to work rifling clumsily through the healer's supplies in search of a good bandage to wrap around her bloodied foot. |
But I'm still trying to make my mind up. Am I free or am I tied up? |
