[googlefont=Righteous][googlefont=Vast Shadow] Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin. Things were looking up for the star child. Since arriving in this new land, he'd had more to eat than ever. At times, he still felt weak and woozy, but his strength was building. Even so, he was certain it wouldn't last for much longer, and he'd soon be able to bounce and play like the other pups. Snuggled in the nest his mother had made, he rolled from his side to his belly. Ridna stared at the great land beyond the edge of the nest. Thus far, he hadn't done much since arriving. He'd been too weak to do more than just wallow in their nest. Now, he was feeling a bit stronger, and a bit braver. Pushing himself up on his stubby little feet, he waddled towards the edge of the nest. Looking over the looming precipice, he took a deep breath. He could do this! Bunching up all the power he could muster in his little body, he leaped for the new world. hope that works!

Fur made up of a white field dappled in dark spots sauntered through the greenhouse. This place was new and unfamiliar, but the canna - or most of them - gave the dalmatian a sense of familial comfort. Even since arriving within the Ah'mir clan's new territory and borders she had been tense and high strung. Nothing would ever be the same for her, she was certain. Where was the girl that the clan had once known her to be? Gone. Perhaps dead. Left behind in that Rozo'ama akoda and still buried in the rubble of the shelter. No, she had escaped with the help of another. Well, who was he? She still did not really know. In their short time together she felt as though they had known each other their entire lives, but when he was gone she felt no real loss. The only loss was that of companionship. Every now and again the feeling of a long-held grudge would surface in her. If they hadn't have separated then maybe the other pups would still be... no. The time had passed. She had her little Ridna. She had someone to focus on.
With her nerves on high alert - as was typical for her since the earthquake - she padded quickly through the Ah'mir base. Even the comfort of her fellow canna did not quell her stress. It was difficult enough to pull herself away from the ren to grab lout from the communal pile, but to be away any longer than that was sheer torture to the dalmatian. So she had quickly gulped down a katha'chek and had proceeded to carry the fluffy tail in her mouth as a sort of prize.
As she rounded the corner to where she had stashed her child she let out a soft whine. The pup had wandered outside of the nest. He had not gotten far but the simple act of not being where she had left him upset the young mother. Setting the katha'chek dita'du down upon the flooring, she waltzed up to her stray pup and lowered herself to her belly to meet him at his level.
"You should be careful, my awali'thi," she stated calmly, nudging the pup with the tip of her nose with enough force to knock him off balance. She still found it somewhat strange that the pup now had a name, after she had gone so long referring to the entire pata with simple, endearing terms. It had been too difficult to name them all. And surely - if she had named them - their loss would have hurt all the more.
With a soft whimper and a wag of her tail she rolled onto her side, her face turned directly at the pup as she opened her mouth in a smile as she gazed at him. Her little star child. Her pink tongue lolled from the side of her muzzle, touching the floor beneath her. Being this low to the ground, she invited the pup to assault her in the playful way they had always done. Puppy nips eased the pain of the recent bimori scars she wore upon her face. The clan's shadowspeaker had informed her the pain was all in her head anyways, but she knew better.
"Come now mali'udu ren," she said softly, her tail thumping against the ground as she rolled over to be fully on her back. Her brown eyes staring brightly at the pup who now appeared to her to be on the ceiling.

[googlefont=Righteous][googlefont=Vast Shadow] Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin. Ridna landed with a stumbling lurch on the hard floor. Tripping over his own paws, he fell face first onto the floor sending a cloud of dust into the air. Laying there for a second, he sniffed and sneezed on the verge of tears. But he held back. After the attack, this was nothing. That was what he told himself. He was going to see the world. Picking himself back up, he took his first waddling steps away from the nest. He didn't make it far before a familiar voice reached his ears and a familiar nose nudged him off balance. Wobbling but losing the fight, he fell on his rump. "Mother," he yipped happily, his little wagging, "I'm careful." Ridna didn't understand what he'd just said. He'd said it in response to Tatu's words to be a good ren. The pup was more than happy to have a playmate. Though he spent much of his time asleep, the lack of any other presence than his mother in his waking hours drew a shroud of loneliness over him. Not that he really understood the feeling, Ridna simply attributed it to boredom. He leapt at his mother, doing his best, despite his diminuitive stature, to act like a strong canna. Notes and things can go here

Tatu'elier held a wide smile on her face as she watched the upside-down pup lunge towards her. At his assault she flicked her tongue out quickly to give him a swift lick on the nose before letting out pleas and begging for him to stop in a playful, mock voice of anguish. "Oh no! Help! This canna is too strong!" she softly cried out in play. Her light chuckles giving away her true feelings. With her legs pointed straight up in the air she flailed the front two limbs around as if she were helpless to save herself from the big, strong canna that was her small, star child.
Catching herself a moment she rolled back onto her belly, her front legs stretched in front of her as she tapped the ground lightly with the two white, front paws. The gesture was made as a small play bow of sorts, though she did not raise her rear end into the air in her motions. Her tail waved happily behind her as she reached a paw out to swat softly at the pup's nose.
Through soft laughter she encouraged him further. "Now give me your best garuru!" she suggested, letting forth a yap of her own. The sound was not as booming nor did it carry the way she could make it but was instead something more akin to what a ren could potentially mimic.

Tomorrow has not yet come. We only have today. Let us begin. His mother's words and actions had Ridna swelling up with a misplaced pride. He might have been small, but he was mighty. Surely, he'd grow to be just as big and bigger than all of the other canna. With his tail wagging fiercely, he leapt back and forth on small paws. His little behind up, trembling and shaking, he howled his little puppy howl, "I'm going to get you." Ridna bit with all the might his puppy teeth could bear down. He couldn't do much, but he'd certainly try.
Even as his mother rolled onto her belly, he clung stubbornly, but in the end, had no choice to but to let go. Clumsily, he dropped to the ground in a small puff of dust and debris. Stumbling back onto his feet, tripping all over his paws, Ridna's smile stretched across his mouth. For all the tumbles he'd taken, the scrawny pup didn't feel a thing. He was nothing but a bundle of boundless energy. That was what he thought, but it wouldn't be long before his antics caught up to him.
Dropping into a bow, his whole body wiggled as he built up his fearsome garuru. Leaping forward, he let out a sharp, little bark. It wasn't a sound that would scare anyone, but Ridna was quite pleased with the result. Surely that was the best garuru she'd ever heard. He let out another bark before stumbling back and falling on his rump. Panting, he gazed at his mother with admiration and pride. Despite his youth, his energy ran out quicker than others his age. Having experienced so little, Ridna wasn't aware of the fact.
