Rah'ki Navir OF Why'o CLAN
At first glance, Rah'ki LOOKS like he should be a good leader. He's brave and smart and observant, and he's willing to risk his life for his Clanmates. But faced with a crisis, or any kind of decision? He freaks out. He hems and haws and stutters and blathers, going back and forth between choices and trying to please everyone. And since he CAN'T please everyone, he's more than once driven himself to tears.
So when somebody steps up to take over, he's quite happy to follow their lead. Even when those specific orders are things he's personally against, the most he'll do is step aside for somebody else to fulfill them. Luckily as a member of the Why'o Clan, he's not had to go against his personal moral code much. Maybe it's because he was raised in the Clan with the same morals, but he hasn't felt much like his orders were unfair to follow!
Rah'ki was brought to the Why'o Clan as a young pup, so young he doesn't even have any memories of the Before. He only knows he wasn't born there from the stories his guardian turned mentor told him. He'd been found by himself, huddled underneath a car and whining.
He wasn't old enough to remember the name he was given, and so he was given a new one: Rah'ki Navir. Noble Warrior. Rah'ki grew up in the Why'o Clan and was treated like any pup born there, never given special treatment one day or another. His guardian, an older canna named Cannae' u, was also his mentor once he got old enough.
Cannae' u tried to make Rah'ki extend his social circle, make friends with the other apprentices. And Rah'ki tried, he really did! But he never meshed well with them, no matter what he did, and he could never pinpoint WHY. It wasn't that they hated him! But it was awkward whenever he tried to insert himself in their already formed circle. So he mostly stuck with Cannae' u.
Life as a corporal wasn't much different from life as an apprentice, at least to him. He still mostly stuck by Cannae' u. Rah'ki didn't do anything unusual throughout his life, no lovers or friends or anything of note. Until the Snags came, humans with ropes and these sticks with loops at the end. Rah'ki and Cannae' u tried to fight back, then escape when it became clear they weren't going to leave any of the Clan alone. Rah'ki was caught first, his inexperience and age working against him, and Cannae' u attempted to get him free, even going to far as to bite the human that had Rah'ki.
They were separated from each other, even in the shelter. Then the earthquake hit, the Rozo'ama Akoda. In the disaster, Rah'ki escaped, and it took some wandering after everything settled for him to realize his father in everything but blood hadn't escaped as well. Now Rah'ki turns his gaze toward the shelter, determined to save him like Cannae' u tried to save him.
Cannae' u is Rah'ki foster father and best friend, but he's going to die in the shelter so he's not important! Rah'ki doesn't have anybody else.
