just be still with me you wouldn't believe what i've been through Tuk'endirani was feeling a sudden bout of laziness sweep over him as the sun began to set itself over the horizon. His chest puffed with pride at his daily accomplishment. The day had truly been a great one for him. It had been sunny all day and, while out snuffling around near the borders of the forest, he had found a burrow of his favorite lout. A nini'muk and her small brood had been easy enough to collect and take back to the pile. Well, the four pups had been no challenge. But the day had been so great that Tuk had hardly suffered a scratch in his kerfuffle with the comparatively large lout. Yep, he had done good work today and was very deserving of a nice rest. Standing in the train station doorway, he took in a deep breathe of the fresh evening air. His mouth curved upwards in a smile that was accentuated by the white furred mustache that hung from his lips. His tail was held high as he turned back indoors and began a strut of contentedness with his own daily actions. The mutt found himself in such a chipper mood that he began humming to himself - even if only so slightly. He carried his paws up high in his gait - or as high as his short legs would allow - in a prancing trot. Sure, others may think he looked like a goof but that was okay with him. So long as the knowledge of his positive attitude was resigned only to the Rith'r Flik. Should he have been in the presence of an enemy or an outsider, he would wear the demeanor of one who should not be messed with. But within the presumed safety of his home, Tuk could be a goof. Heck, some of the other canna had taken to calling him Nini'muk as a playful jab. He was not one to turn his cheek at the jokes among friends. As the male rounded a corner he came to a stop. His tail wagged in approval at the size of the lout cache that stood before him. Atop this pile lay a large mother marmot and her four pups. "Whoooo boy, Tuk," he said to himself, licking his chops at the thought. "I think it's about time ya had yer dinner. Ya sure did earn it today!" His eyes squinted and his mustache blew from the force of a light chuckle escaping his lips - a sign he had entertained himself with his own jokes. Padding up to the pile, he stopped short with a look of pure horror overtaking his scruffy face. The nini'muk at the top of the pile seemed to be... moving? It lurched and wobbled before moving off. The sight was one of nightmares. Gulping and cocking his head, Tuk stepped forward to try to get a clearer view of his once defeated foe. "Didn't I kill you already?" he asked, his voice full of a feigned confidence. He stood firm, his heart pounding in his chest as he tried to decipher what exactly he was witnessing if not a zombified lout. i act | "i speak" | 'i think' |
