tell everybody i'm on my way and i'm loving every step i take How long had it been? Days? Weeks? Months since she had been brought to this strange place full of other strangers - one of which resembled her greatly.
During her time amongst the Rith'r Flik clan, Rayli had lost her gusto. The joy in her heart had begun to waver slightly. It was only the appearance of her reflective face approaching her that set her curled tail to wag. She was told this canna was supposedly her sister. She could not recall having a sister, but many of the other canna had stated it as being so, thus she was keen to believe them.
Ever since the incident with the river she had had trouble trying to do, well, anything. Even walking had become a chore as she felt as though she was once again a small ren, trying her best to find her footing beneath herself. There was little dancing having been done not only due to her negative mood but also due to her feeling physically incapable of such a feat. Still, within the seeming face of hopelessness, Rayli did find herself sometimes humming or even singing in any attempt to keep her spirit up. However, should another canna enter the makeshift infirmary, she would immediately cease her noises. Any canna, that is, save one. Her reflection sister.
With Kanya around, Rayli felt comfortable being talkative. If it were up to her she would spend hours speaking nonsense to the cadet. Unfortunately for her sister, Rayli was beginning to develop more and more flexibility and strength in her legs. If the mutt would try to leave in an attempt to escape her waterlogged sister's ramblings, the white-striped pup would simply drag herself after her sister - pulling herself forward with her front legs when her back ones were tired, or kicking herself forward with her back legs should her front ones be tired. However, the will to get up and find her sister was still not within her. Instead, she stayed in her room and called out.
"Kanyaaaaaaa!" her voice rang as she lay upon her back, wiggling her head and rump from side to side as she continued her sing-song cries. "Kanya, Kanya, Kanya'grair, Kanya'grair, Shempsaaaaarrrrrr!"

In your eyes I see the eyes of somebody I knew before, long, long, long ago...

| Rayli was a really weird dog. If Kanya had ever daydreamed about having siblings, this scrambled mutt definitely wasn't what she would have pictured. Ever. She didn't talk right. She didn't walk right. She knew like, maybe ten words? And she frequently mashed them all together in an earsplitting semblance of a song. Yet, Kanya found herself curiously drawn to the sick-bay on a regular basis. Was it sheer curiosity? Perhaps. Was she growing attached to her half-drowned "sister?" Maybe. Whatever the reason, whenever the Rith'r Flik cadet found herself done with her mentor-assigned chores, she somehow always managed to gravitate right back to Rayli. Today would be no different. When Kanya was released from her mentor's instructions, she had snapped up a scruffy looking katha'chek from the lout pile and made a point of following the direction of that obnoxious howl before her clanmates started to complain. The apprentice rolled her eyes at her own silly thoughts. It wasn't like they'd toss Rayli out for being annoying. If that was an issue Kanya herself probably would have been banished from the clan long ago.
"Hey!" She barked out around the lout in her mouth as she stepped into Rayli's room, unsurprised by the sight of the other pup's short little legs pointing skyward. The food was dropped unceremoniously on Rayli's exposed chest, right between her stumpy little front paws. "Here. Food." Kanya said gruffly, though her own shortened tail wagged in what would be a greeting if it could be seen. Why was she always happy to see this squawking creature? "Gods, you're loud! I can hear all the way out in the forest. What are you howlin' my name for, anyway?"
| But I'm still trying to make my mind up. Am I free or am I tied up?

i don't walk right, i don't talk right and there ain't nothing wrong with feeling strong "Aaahh!" Rayli cried out with a giggle as the katha'chek was dropped down near her face. In her wiggling she had inadvertently tickled her own nose with the dead creature. "Dita'du mukha!!" she laughed. Wiggling this way and that she built up a bit of a momentum before rolling herself completely over onto her belly, her front legs splayed out in front of her while her back ones stuck out behind. Her curled tail wagged wildly as she stared at the face of the one she had summoned with her singing.
Her smile disappeared only momentarily as she considered her sister's question. Spreading her mouth wide in a resurgence of her grin she proudly exclaimed, "Li'rozer. Good rama'jai. Good ren!"
With that, she lowered her muzzle and picked up the squirrel, pulling it out from beneath her body. Holding tightly to its body, her eyes narrowed in a threat of tomfoolery and mischief as she began to pull herself forward - towards Kanya - with her front paws. Swinging her head from side to side, she began waving the creature around and causing the tail to flop this way and that. With a furrowed brow she continued her scoot and mumbled through her mouthful of lout as she slowly approached. "Endirani dita'du... Endirani dita'du! Dita'du!" she yelled, muffled by her own full mouth as she attempted to slap Kanya in the face with the fuzzy tail and maybe entice a game of tug between herself and her sister.
