shiny toy with a price They shouldn't have come here. The building that loomed before them was clearly damaged by the earthquake. It was tilted a bit, windows were shattered, dust covered every surface, and he swore every step made a creak. Nonetheless, attempting to ignore his siblings, the rough collie padded into the building. The structure was quiet, but each move they made seemed to stir up the dust.
Bimori's paws left prints in the sand. The floor was now covered in the gritty soil. Nonetheless, the dog continued to move, nose twitching in the air. The breeze was stale, making it obvious that no animals had been here in awhile.
He moved up the stairs, each step felt as though it would splinter into his paw-pads. That should have been his warning, for soon enough he was moving down a crowded hall. He avoided broken furniture and some scattered glass from a shattered mirror.
"Ah-!" Bimori gave a rather embarrassing yelp as the floor spontaneously folded beneath him. It gave away to his weight as he tunneled through and landed to the floor. His chin bounced off the ground as a pained grunt escaped his chest along with his oxygen.
Pain radiated down his spine and made his head spin. He didn't bother moving as he simply trying to get his bearings. Unaware if his siblings had fallen through or if they were rushing to his aid.

She wasn't sure if this really was a good idea. It didn't seem like the right thing for the Shadowspeaker to be doing. Even so, she wanted to spend some time with just her brothers. Her paws sunk into sand and dirt as her eyes scanned the crumbling building's walls, lagging behind her siblings. Delicately, she stepped past the broken pieces scattered about.
The collie's head shot up from scanning the floor when Bimori yelped and the ground crumbled. Without any hesitation, she rushed towards the hole. Peering down into the gloom, she spotted her brother's stunned form. "Bimori, are you okay?" she called. Whining, she looked for a safe path down to Bimori. Pacing, she studied their surroundings before spotting on a precarious way down.
Stepping lightly on the titling plank, she held back watching it wobble. Trying again to see the same result, she pushed it against the remaining floorboards. On the third attempt, the board wobbled but was stable. Slip, sliding down, she carefully trekked over to Bimori.

Why were they in some old building crumbling to pieces? You'd have to ask his badger of a brother. Maybe he was just looking to fill the void of youthful hijinks not had when the pata were too young to have responsibility. He was happy to let Bimori lead the way. Well... happy would be an overstatement. He was fine with it. There were sure to be some chek scuttling around in the dust, searching for the last crumbs of the grimm that could sustain the little pests. He could at least pick up a few snacks on this pointless adventure.
While his brother rushed up the stairs, and his sister followed gingerly after, Likal stayed on the bottom floor. There was a higher likelihood of prey down there, unless they were looking for roaches. The old infrastructure groaned around the three canna, complaining about the intrusion. The second most important of the siblings sniffed the air, refusing to let his snout touch the ground in case it never worked again. This place was truly a dump.
A louder creak than normal was the only warning before the ceiling near him gave out, sending Bimori thumping down a couple of meters away. Likal turned his head, letting the dust cloud settle a bit white squinting. The collie just needed to see one breath go back into his brother before his attention could be placed elsewhere. His sister's scrambling down the jigsaw of broken boards gave him enough comfort that someone would make sure that Bimori wasn't hurt too badly. Stifling a groan, Likal moved to stand next to his gravity-afflicted brother. "Nice of you to drop in."

shiny toy with a price Being around Likal and Udu'e was like being dunked in ice-cold water only to be snatched right back out of it for a breath of air. His head was momentarily spinning, but for the most part he was okay. His first instinct was to snap at his sister, to hurt her feelings to make up for their puphood of mistreatment. However, he held his tongue, and instead grunted out a 'I'm alright, I'm okay.'
He shakily stood to his paws, his legs ached a little but he believed he could make it home. His gaze then narrowed into the heterochromia pair that belonged to his brother. Another 'prodigy pup', of course he had to be snarky. They were in private, so he didn't hesitate from huffing irritably.
"Oh, kiss my tail, Likal'e." He forced himself to not feel guilty about tagging his siblings along for this adventure. Especially since they could have ended up hurt. What would come of Bimori if he hurt their precious heads?
He brushed past his siblings, a little limp in his pace as he spoke to Udu'e without looking at her. "Well, since my idea was clearly a bust. Do you want to look for herbs or... Whatever you're into." He gave a sneeze as the dust had wafted into the air due to his fall.
"Would hate for us to show up empty-pawed and wounded. Just imagine the looks."

"That's good." If he said he was okay, she had to believe it, but she wanted to confirm with her own eyes. As he stood up, she backed up a tich to give him space and observed with a concerned look. Watching him shake, she was ready to leap forward and support him if it looked like he would fall. Much to her relief, he didn't. Bimori's annoyed huff eased her worries. He would be fine if he still acted the same.
Another dog would have received a chiding from Udu'e for speaking to Likal rudely, but she was used to the biting back and forth between her siblings. As Bimori brushed past, her eyes caught on a slight limp in his walk. A frown creased her eyes, but she held her tongue. If Bimori didn't want help then there wasn't much she could do. And she felt it would only hurt him more if she forced him to receive help.
"Oh." Awkwardly, her eyes shifted to Likal. Udu'e spent near about all her time on her work as shadowspeaker. Taking a moment to relax and have fun wasn't something she was used to. While she was fine with gathering herbs, she didn't think her brothers would be. "We don't have to... There must be something else."
It seemed her brothers caused her nothing but worry. "That's not true." No one would look at them funny. Everyone would be concerned. Why'Os stick together. That was who they were.

With gasps finally returning to (semi)normal heaving breaths, Likal was finally sure that Bimori would be just fine. His sister's fawning over every injured canna truly came in handy here as their prickly brother made his way back to his paws. "Oh, kiss my tail, Likal'e," he spat, earning him one more lick of sarcasm from his big brother. "Why, you have a booboo there too?" Likal tossed back, still focused more on sniffing around the structure than actually seeing if Bimori was actually injured at all.
While his siblings continued the conversation, Likal stuffed his nose around the corner, chasing an old smell of chek that had once scuttled through the cracks. Damn. He could've had a snack for this family outing. "Why don't we just go for a walk, huh? Make sure your legs aren't broken and see if any chek or fli decide to battle against the best siblings in the Why'o clan. We can pick whatever herbs there may be along the way," he turned to face Udu'e and Bimori, the thick cloud of dust disturbed by the fall still obscuring his vision a little bit, "At least we can get out of this dust."
