[ti]HUNTING[/ti][OPEN] The Road To Breakfast

Navira had left the Why'o pell'galu early with the intention of challenging herself to a bird hunt. With the humans gone, birds had become much bolder, taking to the roads most mornings to huddle against cracked asphalt in an effort to warm up their tiny bodies. These new habits hadn't gone unnoticed by the Why'o Chief.

She trotted along the abandoned roadside, taking advantage of the tall grasses that grew at their edges now. They offered a barrier of protection between herself and the road. A screen that would prevent the ground-bound birds from spotting her immediately once she found them.

Ears perked now and step slowed to a sneak, for she could hear them now, chirping and chattering sleepily to themselves in the early morning light. Yet, as the chief honed in on the hunt, another much larger target caught her attention and made her duck even further into the roadside foliage.

Birds and canna weren't the only ones taking advantage of the empty roads. A young shu'a doe had ventured from the forest and was cautiously sniffing at a little house on the opposite side of the street.

Navira would have huffed a breath of frustration that she hadn't brought another Why'o along for the hunt. She wouldn't be able to take down a shu'a all on her own.
