Now I know that I talk about plants and stuff all the time"...Lendri was gushing, "But I think you're really going to like these ones." He was trotting along a deserted, overgrown road with Kira at his side, an excited little smile creeping across his face. He could not wait to show his sister the surprise! As usual, it had taken a little bit of convincing to get her to believe him that these were really truly special plants. In Lendri's mind, all plants and animals were equally special and fascinating. For some reason though, Kira wasn't ever as excited when he brought home a new fern or a little toad. (It was a really cool toad.) This would be different though, he just knew it. He had tossed and turned in his bed all night with excitement over surprising Kira with his discovery. And then the morning he had rushed through his chores so quickly that Likal had given him weird looks. Well. That actually wasn't much different than any other day. "We're almost there!" He said, glancing over at Kira with a little skip-hop of joy. They had now turned down a smaller gravel road with heavy foliage growing up on either side. Somewhere in the greenery was the remnants of a railroad - Probably disconnected from the main track by Rozo'ama Akoda. That wasn't the treat though. The treat was just up ahead! Only a little ways longer... |
