Rising suddenly from amidst the River Forest is a large, dilapidated greenhouse. It’s home to the Ah’mir clan, a gang of dogs dedicated to coming out on top. The only way to cross into their territory when the river isn’t frozen over is to swim— a trial within itself, as only the strong are able to manage. Though its members aren’t evil, they are wily and strong, willing to short other dogs if it means increasing their own clan’s influence.

With control of the shilah’mira flower in their paws, this clan draws its power through trade with others. Home to any canna who want to be a part of something bigger, this group prides itself on their ingenuity and drive to succeed. If your dog is crafty, strong, or just plain willing to get their paws dirty to achieve their goals, then this clan is the home for you.

CHARACTERISTICS

Accepting

Despite their moral grayness, the clan is accepting of all. So long as members pull their weight, they can be tall, short, strong, swift, intelligent, or otherwise. However, the useless and weak are ridiculed, and there is a lot of pressure to improve. Competence is valued above all.

Wily

An Ah’mir dog is a crafty dog. They have been known to travel outside of their territory to sabotage the herb growth in other clan’s territory to ensure that they can continue to control the flow of trade.

Militant

The Chief runs a tight ship, and has a tendency to meet disobedience with displays of dominance. Dogs with issues with authority do not do well here, as the higher ranking members all demand the respect they are due– and they’ll take it with their teeth and claws, if necessary.

Colors

Since the clan is a mix of dogs from all walks of life, there are no established pelt colors amongst their ranks. However, certain dogs may be assigned to different roles. Though not set in stone, brown, gray, and similarly dark-furred dogs are often hunters, whilst brighter-colored dogs are encouraged to be fighters or healers.

TRADITIONS

The Color Run

Whenever there is cause to celebrate, the dogs of Ah’mir will grind colorful flower petals into a powder and paint their pelts with vibrant shades of purple, orange, blue, and more. They will then go on a run through the forest as a group, leaving streaks of color amongst the trees and shrubbery. Hunters and scavengers will gather a feast of food, and members of the clan will spend the night eating together, howling, and sharing stories of their past in a grand festival.

Death Ceremony

Whenever a member of the Ah’mir dies, their fur is carefully decorated with pleasant-smelling herbs by the healers of the clan. They are laid out on a large, flat stone just outside the greenhouse, where members will pay their respects. Before they are buried, the gathered canines will chant their canna-given name to honor their rama’jai, and the dogs closest to them will stand vigil over their grave for one night to ensure that no malevolent spirits, haruva’kai, interfere with the body.

Crossing The River

A tradition borne when Li'Greyo Miera led Ah'mir Clan across the river to their new home for the first time following Rozo'ama Akoda. All prospective clanmembers must prove their strength and willingness to join Ah'mir by swimming the river. A canna who can't cross the river can't leave the forest...or even get in.

The importance of crossing the river wasn't lost on the clan's pups either. They've been known to challenge themselves from a young age to dive into the raging water to prove themselves a worthy member of the clan.

CLAN BASE

Sequestered away within the River Forest lies an old greenhouse, abandoned by the humans long before they mysteriously disappeared. The Ah’mir clan made claim to the building only recently, drawn to its lush plantlife and high glass ceilings. Dogs are welcome to make their beds wherever they desire, with plush moss softening the floors and making for comfortable sleeping spaces.

The clan Chief makes their home in a private alcove concealed by hanging ivy and vines. In a small, damp side-room, the coveted Shila’mira herb (sleeping flower) is cultivated. A dog is almost always stationed at the entrance of this room as a guard.
